Assistant Teacher

The Goddard School - Westerville II (County Line Road location)
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Pre-K Assistant Teacher to support classroom activities and promote a positive learning environment for our Pre-K 1 children.
In this role, you will work closely with the lead teacher to implement engaging lesson plans, support children's social and academic development, and ensure a safe, nurturing space for all students. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your teaching skills within a team committed to early childhood education excellence.

Responsibilities

• Help create a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that meets health and safety regulations by supervising children by sight and sound at all times.
• Assist lead teachers in executing daily lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and social skills.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to support each child's individual needs and progress.
• Support classroom management by fostering positive behavior and encouraging respectful interactions among children.
• Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote curiosity, creativity, and foundational skills in early childhood development.
• Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities related to curriculum development, behavior management, and early childhood education best practices.

Requirements

• Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or private school settings.
• Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and families.
• Ability to to lift children and equipment as necessary up to 40 pounds
• A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their growth through engaging activities.
• High School Diploma
• Ability to obtain medical statement with TDap and MMR vaccines up to date.
• Ability to pass FBI/ Ohio BCI backround check (school provided)
• Experience working with children with special needs or disabilities is a plus, but not required.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
