Assistant Technician – Water Network/Pump Mechanic

➢ Ability to conform to all general and technical safety requirements at all times to ensure the

health, safety & welfare of self and others at work

➢ Any other work as assigned by the supervisor / duty engineer to achieve the purpose.

➢ Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS)

➢ Can read interpret and describe the functionality of pump systems and pipework schematics

and system layout drawings

➢ Can correctly setup and use test equipment and interpret the test results.

to include

• Dial test indicator (DTI)

• Potable water test kit

• Vibration analyser

➢ Ability to raise & complete PMS fault report sheets, daily utilization reports and CMMS work

orders

➢ Knowledge in the use & interpretation of Local and International Plumbing, drainage &

Pipework Standards and Regulations

➢ Ability to adopt a logical or methodical approach to troubleshooting & fault finding on water

networks, equipment and system

➢ Acts a role model for tradesman and helpers and leads the team by example with consistent

attention to detail and quality by demonstrating a "get it right first

time every time " attitude to the job

Assets Exposure (Direct)

Major assets below, but not limited to

• Water pipework systems and associated valves

• Waste and drainage pipework systems

• Pressure reducing valve stations (PRVs)

• Irrigation pumps and systems

• Storm water pumps and systems

• Aircraft potable water systems and associated valves

• Sewage pumps and associated pipework

Asset Maintenance Experience (Hands-on)

For listed Assets, in the capacity as a lead person:

o Periodic Preventive Maintenance

o Breakdown Trouble Shooting

o Inspections

o Condition Assessment

o Condition Based Maintenance

o Corrective Maintenance

o Configuration and Modifications

Tasks’ Experience (Hands-on)

Tasks such as, but not limited to

• Clean, lubricate, adjust bearings and pulleys. Repair or replace components

• As needed to ensure proper operation.

• Check control system and devices for evidence of improper operation.

• Maintenance and troubleshooting on:

• Water pipework systems and associated Valves

• Waste and drainage pipework systems

• Pressure reducing valve stations (PRVs)

• Irrigation pumps and systems

• Storm water pumps and systems
