JGX is a privately held business in the men’s and women’s activewear apparel industry. JGX is a

growing manufacturer representing numerous brands. Our talented professionals are leaders in

design, sourcing, sales and global distribution. We are looking to add an assistant designer to

our ranks.This position would be mainly assisting the womens activewear director on

development & production. This role is full-time in person in NYC office.

Overview:

The Assistant Designer - Apparel will provide overall support to the Design team by assisting in

preliminary design research, creating tech packs, assembling presentation boards and

materials.

Key Accountabilities:

- Assist in contributing to complete landscape of and brand research for appropriate segment of

business

- Assist in creating CAD sketches of styles in development

- Assist in ensuring all sampling technical packs are processed accurately and in a timely manner

to be sent overseas

- Meet all deadlines in adherence to the seasonal design calendar

- Assist in fitting session with tech designer

- Assist in creating seasonal design catalogs

- Assist with showroom prep and sample tracking

- Special projects as assigned

- Reviewing production submits, including lab dips, Bulk, fit samples, etc

- Assist in communication with factory overseas

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities/Education:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design

- 1+ years of experience in related eld and/or strong internship experience

- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite

- Excellent organizational and communication skills with attention to detail

- Consistent in-o ce presence is vital to the role as it is for all JGX team members, so that we all

have a full appreciation, aesthetically and tactilely, of the qualities that de ne our brand

partners’ products and set them apart from their competitors.

- Eligible to work legally in United States

Salary Description: $45,000 - $ 50,000 per year

*pls note a project will be required as part of interview process

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
