Fox & Moghul is a boutique law firm in Fairfax, Virginia focusing on real estate, business, commercial, and estate planning matters. We handle complex litigation and transactional matters and are active in professional education through CLE programming and publications.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Virginia-barred Associate Attorney to join our litigation team. This position is ideal for an entry-level or early-career attorney seeking hands-on litigation experience and long-term professional growth.

The Associate will work directly with senior attorneys on civil litigation matters in Virginia courts and will play an active role in client communication, case strategy, and courtroom appearances.

Fluency in Mandarin (spoken and written) is required due to client needs.

Compensation & Incentives

• Base Salary: $90,000– $130,000
• Performance-Based Bonus Potential: Up to $80,000 annually
• Case Origination Credit

Total compensation is performance-driven and rewards initiative, efficiency, and client development.

Responsibilities

• Appear at return dates and motion hearings in Virginia General District Court
• Litigate matters in General District and Circuit Courts
• Conduct client consultations
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and legal memoranda
• Participate in discovery, depositions, and trial preparation
• Collaborate on case strategy and client management
• Maintain high standards of client service
• Support business development initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active Virginia Bar license (required)
• Fluency in Mandarin (spoken and written), native language speakers preferred
• Strong legal research and writing skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

• Civil litigation experience
• Experience in real estate or business litigation
• Familiarity with Virginia court procedures
• Experience with Clio, legal case management software
• Experience briefing and arguing motions and handling depositions
