Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated Traffic & Criminal Defense Attorney to join our expanding team.

This is not a desk job.

The selected attorney will be in court 3–4 days per week in General District Courts throughout Hampton Roads. This role is designed for someone who wants real courtroom experience and thrives in active litigation.

If you prefer sitting behind a computer all week, this is not the position for you.

Responsibilities

• Appear in court 3–4 days per week representing clients in traffic and misdemeanor criminal matters
• Handle high-volume dockets efficiently and professionally
• Argue motions and conduct bench trials when necessary
• Negotiate directly with prosecutors
• Prepare and file motions, pleadings, and correspondence
• Review discovery and prepare cases for trial
• Maintain organized case files and manage deadlines
• Collaborate with firm leadership on case strategy

Note: Client consultations and intake are handled by firm leadership.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Active Virginia Bar license (or pending results)
• Strong courtroom presence and oral advocacy skills
• Confidence handling high-volume dockets
• Excellent organization and time management
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of cases
• Professionalism under pressure
