Our legal team advocates for consumer rights, holds bad actors accountable, and seeks justice for those who have been misled, overcharged, or trapped in predatory home improvement contracts.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and diligent Associate Attorney to join our legal team. This role is ideal for an attorney interested in consumer protection, fraud litigation, and standing up for everyday homeowners harmed by misleading solar panel sales tactics and home improvement scams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the investigation and analysis of homeowner complaints involving fraudulent or deceptive solar panel and home improvement sales.
  • Draft legal documents including demand letters, complaints, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Conduct legal research related to consumer protection laws, contract law, unfair business practices, and relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., FTC, state consumer statutes).
  • Help prepare case files for litigation or settlement negotiations.
  • Communicate with clients to gather facts, explain legal options, and provide updates.
  • Support senior attorneys in preparing for hearings, mediations, or trials.
  • Monitor developments in consumer protection law and renewable energy sales regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law and in good standing with the Florida Bar.
  • 0–2 years of legal experience, preferably with exposure to consumer law, contract disputes, civil litigation, or administrative law.
  • Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Commitment to social justice, ethical representation, and advocacy for vulnerable populations.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with consumer protection statutes such as the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), state-level deceptive practices acts, or solar energy financing regulations.
  • Experience working with low- or moderate-income clients or in public interest law.
  • Spanish or other language fluency a plus.

Work Schedule & Compensation:

  • Part-Time: Approx. 10 - 15 hours/week (flexible scheduling available
  • Location: Remote
  • Compensation: $43 to $52 per hour
  • Additional Benefits: Bar dues reimbursement and mission-aligned work in a growing legal advocacy organization.
