About the role

We are seeking an Associate Counsel to support the company’s legal function with a primary focus on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, along with legal research, privacy and data protection compliance, and support for healthcare-related legal and regulatory matters. This role is ideal for a junior in-house attorney who is detail-oriented, business-minded, and eager to grow across commercial, privacy, and healthcare compliance topics in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Contracts (Primary Focus)

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a variety of commercial agreements, including vendor contracts, service agreements, NDAs
  • Identify legal and business risks and propose practical solutions aligned with company goals
  • Support internal stakeholders (operations, marketing, product, finance, HR) in contract planning, approvals, and execution
  • Track contract status, maintain templates, and assist with contract management processes
  • Assist with building and maintaining standard contract templates, playbooks, and approval workflows

Healthcare & Regulatory Support

  • Support legal research and compliance efforts related to healthcare laws and regulations applicable to the company’s business model
  • Assist with reviewing and advising on healthcare-related agreements (e.g., clinical services, provider-related agreements, pharmacy/vendor agreements, or patient-facing service terms)
  • Support compliance initiatives involving healthcare advertising/marketing rules and consumer protection requirements (as applicable)

Privacy & Data Protection

  • Support compliance efforts related to privacy laws and regulations (e.g., HIPAA, FTC guidance, state privacy laws such as CCPA/CPRA, as applicable)
  • Help review consumer-facing policies and disclosures (privacy policy, terms and conditions, consent language, notices, etc.)

Legal Research & General Support

  • Conduct legal research on business issues, regulatory questions, and industry-specific legal requirements
  • Assist with general legal department support including policy updates, risk issue tracking, and legal operations tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • JD from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing (any U.S. jurisdiction)
  • 3–5 years of legal experience, ideally including contracts or commercial work (law firm or in-house)
  • Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills with attention to detail
  • Strong legal research and writing skills with the ability to communicate legal concepts in plain language
  • Working knowledge of privacy concepts and willingness to grow in healthcare and privacy compliance

The pay range for this role is:
90,000 - 125,000 USD per year(USA)
