Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership for the Office of Undergraduate Programs, including supervision of staff and management of the operating budget. Oversee the development and implementation of policies, processes, and programs that support undergraduate recruitment, academic progress, and a high-quality student experience across the student lifecycle, including:
Lead and advance academic advising innovation across all undergraduate programs, including inter-school transfer advising.
Direct student academic success and retention initiatives, including tutoring programs, academic actions, and related student support services.
Partner with admissions to support and enhance first-year recruitment, including delivery of McKelvey-specific programming (e.g., presentations, tours).
Oversee aspects of the Dual Degree program, including recruitment, admissions, onboarding, and affiliated programming with partner institutions.
Lead undergraduate experiential and enrichment opportunities, including J-Term offerings, and scholar programs (e.g., Langsdorf Scholars, McKelvey Research Scholars) and programs such as Business and Computer Science (BUCS).
In collaboration with Division of Student Affairs, provide support to student organizations.
Assist in planning and execution of major undergraduate events, including new student orientation, Parent & Family Weekend, awards ceremonies, and graduation recognition events
In coordination with the McKelvey Associate Dean of Graduate Programs, oversee the operations and staff members maintaining student records and course records, which includes the support offered to McKelvey academic departments, and liaison with the University Registrar’s Office.
Collaborate across schools and departments within the university to coordinate, develop, and modify student policies, ensuring McKelvey is compliant and updated with current information. Serve as the primary liaison on WashU committees for undergraduate student services.
Serve as an academic advisor for a pool of undergraduate students in each class, including incoming Dual Degree students.
Serve as a primary point of contact for ABET accreditation activities and lead assessments of McKelvey’s undergraduate programs in collaboration with the Vice Dean for Education.
