The Opportunity

The Associate Experience Design Researcher is an entry-level role that will support research activities across the product lifecycle, helping to uncover insights that drive design and business decisions. The Associate Experience Design Researcher will work closely with cross-functional teams to conduct and support user research that informs us of our product and design strategy. They’ll assist in planning, executing, and analyzing a variety of research studies—such as interviews, usability testing, and surveys—to better understand user needs and behaviors. Your work will help ensure that our products are user-centered, accessible, and impactful.

Day in the Life

  • Assist in the design and execution of user research studies (e.g., usability testing, user interviews, surveys, diary studies)
  • Recruit, screen, and schedule participants for research sessions
  • Collect and organize qualitative and quantitative data
  • Analyze research findings and help generate key insights
  • Collaborate with designers, product managers, and developers to translate insights into actionable recommendations
  • Help prepare research documentation, reports, and presentations
  • Stay informed about UX research trends, tools, and best practices
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required and pursuing or has a bachelor’s degree completed a degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, Design, Information Science, or a related field or a combination of education and work experience.
  • Experience working on a UX or research project (academic, internship, or extracurricular) preferred
  • 0-2 years relevant experience
  • Basic understanding of UX research methods and practices
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Curiosity, empathy, and a willingness to learn
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Familiarity with tools like Lyssna, HeyMarvin, Figma, or research platforms (e.g., UserTesting, Dovetail, Optimal Workshop)
  • Exposure to accessibility and inclusive design principles
  • Ability to create simple research deliverables (personas, journey maps, slide decks)
