Under the direction of the Director of the Division of Research, Evaluation, and Assessment, or the Director’s designee, the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) performs a variety of complex analytical and coordination assignments that support the Division’s operations and priorities. The AGPA plans and manages technical assistance events, conducts data analysis, supports educator examination and assessment programs, and coordinates fiscal and administrative activities for the Division. The incumbent works independently and collaboratively to plan, analyze, and implement projects of significant scope and complexity, exercising sound judgment and initiative in resolving issues and improving processes. When assigned to division-related projects, the AGPA works cooperatively with and takes direction from Division of Research, Evaluation, and Assessment Administrators and Consultants in Teacher Preparation.

Department Information

The California Commission on Teacher Credentialing is an agency in the Executive Branch of California State Government. It was created in 1970 by the Ryan Act and is the oldest of the autonomous state standards boards in the nation. The major purpose of the agency is to serve as a state standards board for educator preparation for the public schools of California, the licensing and credentialing of professional educators in the State, the enforcement of professional practices of educators, and the discipline of credential holders in the State of California.

This is a Limited Term position which may be extended or become permanent.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management abilities, including experience leading or coordinating projects from design through completion.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including experience preparing detailed analytical and technical reports.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and database tools used for data collection, analysis, and reporting.
