Here's a summary of responsibilities:
We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Associate IT Infrastructure Generalist to support and maintain our core IT infrastructure systems. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience across multiple infrastructure domains including server administration, networking, end-user support, and systems monitoring. The ideal candidate will bring practical experience with Microsoft technologies, virtualization platforms, and basic server and network hardware maintenance.
Here’s how you’ll have an impact:-
Provide day-to-day support and troubleshooting for core IT systems including Active Directory, Exchange (on-premises or O365), and Microsoft Office Suite.

Basic experience configuring and troubleshooting Azure, Amazon AWS, and/or Google cloud platform services and applications.

Tier 3 liaison between infrastructure team and service desk.

Assist in the management of virtual machines using VMware.
-
Perform basic network troubleshooting, including connectivity issues, switch/router diagnostics, wireless diagnosis, and cable installations.

Support the setup and maintenance of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems and perform battery checks and replacements as needed.

Support the installation and removal of physical hardware including servers, switches, access points, firewalls, UPS equipment, and network cabling.

Preferred experience monitoring IT infrastructure using tools like WhatsUp Gold, responding to alerts and escalating issues when appropriate.

Assist in user account management, group policy administration, and email configuration tasks.

Document standard operating procedures and maintain accurate records of system configurations and incidents.
-
Participate in IT projects, system upgrades, patch management, and other infrastructure improvement efforts. On call as required.

Maintain an organized and secure IT environment in compliance with company policies and procedures.

Documentation and knowledge base experience using Microsoft office products including but not limited to Visio.

Here are the skills and experience you'll need to be effective:-
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, etc.)

Industry certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, or similar.

1–3 years of experience in an IT support or infrastructure-related role.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory, and Exchange administration.

Experience with virtual machine management (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).

Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, switching, cabling).

Hands-on experience supporting or maintaining UPS battery backup systems.

Familiarity with WhatsUp Gold or similar infrastructure monitoring platforms.

Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
-
Ability to follow standard procedures and accurately document technical work.

Excellent communication and time management skills.
-
Experience working in a hybrid or on-premises server environment.
-
Exposure to ITIL practices and documentation standards.

Hiring pay range $56,845 - $72,194 per year

This Full-Time, Exempt position is intended to work 40 hours per week.

Bonus: This position will be eligible for the Annual Incentive Award Program, which has a 10% target. The USOPC may change or eliminate this program at any time at its sole discretion.
