About The Team

We are looking for an Associate Legal Counsel with 2-4 years of experience to be part of our office based in Mangaluru.

Responsibilities

Currently, EG's Group Legal & Compliance department consists of 16 employees who are in Nordic countries and in India. As a part of EG's legal department, you will handle matters within a wide range of legal areas and collaborate with various stakeholders to solve problems and ensure compliance with relevant legislation. We handle a variety of legal issues related to a software business, including:

Your key areas will be vendor management and internal compliance, including:

• Vendor Audits: Conduct vendor audits, including the collection of audit reports. General data preparation and collection to conduct risk assessments.
• Contract Management: Manage customer contracts in our CLM system, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Generate and distribute contract management reports, including status updates for business unit/division management.
• Data protection Compliance: Ensure compliance with data protection laws and regulations in India as well as in Europe.
• Awareness Initiative: Assist in the management and utilization of our Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tools. Set up and execute awareness campaigns by Group Legal & Compliance.
• General Legal Guidance and Support: Provide legal guidance and support to stakeholders, assisting with a broad spectrum of legal matters, including ad-hoc tasks, projects, and administrative responsibilities, mailbox management, management systems (ZenGRC, Docusign, Ubivox etc.), support to the legal counsels in audits, ongoing projects
  
  

Required Skills

You will be an ideal candidate if you:

• Hold a degree in law.
• Have a minimum of 2 years of experience working in MNC or Law firm or Global Capability Centre.
• Comfortable and find it motivating working within a variety of legal areas and fields of expertise.
• Possess the ability to work independently as well as part of a team, particularly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. A proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement is highly valued.
• Are business-oriented, service-minded, and willing to go the extra mile when necessary.
• Are a structured, detail-oriented individual with a hands-on approach and excel in cross-organizational communication.
• Have fluency in English, both written and spoken.
