Associate Litigation Attorney

The ideal candidate is a 2-5 year attorney (2020-2023 grad) with excellent academic and work credentials to join as an associate in growing civil litigation firm to practice at the highest level of quality. If you want to leave Big Law, the US Attorney’s Office, the AG’s Office etc. and become a great litigator, please apply.

The candidate will work directly with the partner on a daily basis, including attending hearings, trials, and depositions. The firm puts a heavy emphasis on mentorship. In short, if a candidate wants to be the best civil litigator they can be, our goal is to help them get there. Office work in Austin with some remote work.

Compensation is highly competitive with Big Law. Federal Clerkship bonuses available.

ABOUT PILOTHOUSE LITIGATION PLLC: PilotHouse Litigation is a plaintiff’s side civil litigation firm practicing primarily in Travis and surrounding counties. Almost all the work is hourly, with a sprinkling of contingency. The associate would be working directly with the partner and get immediate experience in all aspects of being a litigator. We have particular experience in contract and business disputes, fiduciary litigation, suing property owner's associations, commercial lease disputes, and real estate and construction litigation.

Currently the firm consists of a partner and an excellent paralegal. We have a small office off Red River and 35th.

ABOUT JACOB SCHEICK: Jacob founded PilotHouse Litigation in March 2023. He attended the University of Texas School of Law, where he was a member of the Law Review. After law school, he clerked for Judge William Wayne Justice, a United States District Judge known for his commitment to civil rights. For over a decade, Jacob was an associate and then partner at Almanza, Blackburn, Dickie & Mitchell LLP, a firm full of attorneys highly regarded in Austin and throughout Texas. Jacob believes that part of an attorney's job is mentoring younger attorneys. He is a member of the Lochridge Inn of Court's Executive Committee and is in charge of student recruitment for the Inn. He lives in the Zilker neighborhood of Austin, with his wife Harmony, an architect, and their two dogs, Ando and Ray.

Job Type: Full-time

Base Pay: $150,000.00 - $215,000.00 per year
