The Payments Legal team is a highly collegial, collaborative and cohesive team of lawyers and legal professionals supporting clients launching complex and innovative products on a global basis.

In this role, you will support the Payments team as it develops new and unique products and services to support customers around the world. You will also be asked to become a partner to product and engineering teams, thereby having the opportunity to advise the team on all aspects of product development. The future for Payments is exciting and we are looking for a collaborative, and experienced lawyer to join our team and contribute to this exciting and rapidly evolving space.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $210,000-$312,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering, product management, product strategy to develop practical, and creative solutions to achieve business goals while mitigating legal risks for the Payments Platform.
• Identify and help solve complex issues in areas such as policy, privacy, consumer protection, and the regulatory landscape surrounding payments.
• Manage multiple different projects and stakeholders at once, including outside counsel and regional counsel in different countries/time zones.
• Work with other legal and compliance specialists across Google to understand global and regional regulatory requirements and advocate for product-specific compliance strategies that can help the Payments Platform team achieve its goals.
• Partner with cross-functional teams including Regulatory Affairs; Risk, Compliance and Integrity; Government Affairs and Public Policy; Communications; and User Experience (UX).
