Job Description

Job Title: Associate Product Manager

Location: Bangalore (Onsite)

Reporting to: Senior Manager - Product


PURPOSE OF ROLE

We are seeking an Associate Product Manager (APM) to own and drive data products that enable critical Supply Chain analytics and reporting use cases. This role will work closely with business stakeholders, Data Engineers, Architects, and QA teams to define requirements, document transformations across the medallion architecture, and ensure high-quality, analytics-ready data is delivered in an optimal and scalable manner.

The APM will act as the end-to-end owner of the data product, from requirement discovery and roadmap definition to delivery, quality assurance, and ongoing enhancements.


KEY TASKS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES


1. Data Product Ownership & Stakeholder Alignment

· Own one or more Supply Chain data products on BrewDat that enable specific business use cases and analytics outcomes.

· Partner with business stakeholders to define the data product vision, roadmap, and data strategy, aligned with reporting and analytics needs.

· Translate business problems into clearly defined data use cases, success metrics, and delivery milestones.

· Act as the primary interface between stakeholders and data engineering teams, ensuring continuous alignment on scope, priorities, and outcomes.


2. Requirement Documentation & Medallion Architecture Design

· Lead detailed requirement discovery sessions with stakeholders to understand data requirements

· Create and maintain Source-to-Target Mapping (STTM) documents covering:

  • Source systems and raw ingestion (Bronze layer)
  • Cleansed, conformed, and enriched datasets (Silver layer)
  • Business-ready, analytics-optimized models (Gold layer)

· Clearly document business rules, transformations, aggregations, and data quality checks at each layer of the medallion architecture.

· Ensure documentation is accurate, version-controlled, and consumable by Data Engineers, QAs, and Architects.


3. Agile Delivery & Team Leadership

· Own and prioritize the product backlog for Data Engineers and QA resources.

· Plan and drive agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily scrums, backlog refinement, demos, and retrospectives.

· Provide clear guidance and context to Data Engineers and Architects on implementation approaches and priorities.

· Track progress, manage dependencies, and proactively unblock delivery risks.

· Experience leading and coordinating cross-functional teams of Data Engineers and Architects to deliver complex data solutions.


4. Data Quality, Issue Management & Platform Governance

· Define and implement data quality rules, reconciliation checks, and validation criteria in partnership with stakeholders and engineers.

· Act as the first point of contact (POC) for data defects, pipeline failures, and production issues.

· Perform first-level triage and root cause analysis before assigning issues to the appropriate team member.

· Ensure data is onboarded and maintained in BrewDat following platform standards, performance best practices, and cost optimization guidelines.


5. Technical Enablement & Analytics Readiness

· Leverage SQL and Databricks knowledge to:

  • Validate data outputs and transformations
  • Support engineers in requirement clarification
  • Perform basic analysis and troubleshooting

· Use Databricks Lakehouse dashboards and monitoring capabilities to track data freshness, quality, and usage.

· Ensure data products are analytics-ready and optimized for downstream reporting and BI consumption.


QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS

Education:

· B.E/B.Tech


Experience:

· 4–6 years of experience in Data Product Management or Analytics Engineering roles.


Technical/Functional Skills:

· Strong experience in data requirement definition, source to target mapping (STTM) documentation, and capturing transformation logic.

· Hands-on working knowledge of:

  • SQL
  • Databricks (DBX)
  • Lakehouse / Medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold)

· Familiarity with enterprise data platforms, including:

Azure Databricks

  • ADLS / Azure Blob Storage
  • Azure Data Factory (ADF) or equivalent orchestration tools
  • Data quality, observability, and lineage concepts

· Proven experience working with and leading Data Engineers and Architects in an agile delivery model.

· Excellent stakeholder management, prioritization, and communication skills


Preferred (Good to have) Skills:

· Supply Chain domain concepts such as demand planning, inventory, logistics, procurement, or manufacturing

· Data Visualization (Power BI/Tableau)
