Associate Professor/Professor, Research - Anesthesiology, McGovern Medical School

The Department of Anesthesiology, Critical Care and Pain Medicine and the Institute of Perioperative Medicine (IPM) at McGovern Medical School invite applications for non/tenure-track Associate Professor/Professor positions focused on research. We are particularly interested in applicants with a strong record of independent funding and a passion for leading translational research programs in perioperative medicine and critical care, including acute lung injury, myocardial or hepatic ischemia, acute kidney injury, intestinal inflammation, and neurocognitive dysfunction.

Position Key Accountabilities:

Responsibilities include developing extramural funding and actively participating in the research activities of the Institute of Perioperative Medicine.

Qualifications:

Qualified individuals should have the following:

• MD or PhD degree.
• Active and sustained extramural funding.
• A minimum of 8–10 years of relevant research experience beyond their terminal degree.
• Candidates should also demonstrate a track record of high-impact publications, mentorship of trainees, and the ability to establish and lead independent research initiatives.
