The Employment Development Department (EDD), Field Audit and Compliance Division (FACD), has an exciting opportunity within the Central Operations, Training & Outreach Group for one (1) ATA to join our amazing team!

Under the direction of a Tax Administrator I, the ATA independently performs staff work and conducts more sensitive, complex audits and investigations including screening of Tax Enforcement Group and Questionable Employment Tax Practices to identify potential non-compliance issues, assign case priority and complete cases in the Accounting and Compliance Enterprise System. The ATA also completes 311 Investigations or creates a lead for referral to an Area Audit Office.

The ATA conducts technical program training for the Division and its programs. Coordinates Branch training as the Division Training Single Point of Contact. Assists in the development of the more complex training modules, policies, procedures, and in the development of all training regarding Introductory Professional Education, Continuing Professional Education, e-Learning Café, and other training related material.

Consults with program areas in the development and delivery of training, statewide scheduling of training sessions, organizing facility locations and preparation of materials for training sessions.

The positions are headquartered in Sacramento, CA and may be eligible for telework under EDD's telework policy. California Government Code Section 14200 requires employees to reside in California to telecommute. Employees are required to report to their headquarters office, as needed. Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee.

Background Investigation Requirement

The position(s) may require an applicant to pass a background investigation. However, applicants will not be asked to provide information about a conviction history unless they receive a conditional offer of employment.

The department will make an individualized assessment of whether the conviction history has a direct or adverse relationship with the specific duties of the job and the work performed by the department. The department will consider potential mitigating factors, including, but not limited to, evidence and extent of rehabilitation, recency, nature and seriousness, and age at the time of the offense(s).

The investigation will consist of completion of a personal history statement and fingerprinting checks with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Department of Justice, and/or local law enforcement agencies. Anyone failing to pass the background investigation will be provided information on how to appeal the process. A criminal conviction may not result in an automatic determination of "Not Qualified."
