The Path of Citrus County is recruiting for an experienced Asst Director, Donor Relations and Community Engagement to work alongside our Development Director and Executive Director.  This position would be responsible for coordinating projects, timelines, resources, and using various channels to create new and maintain lasting relationships with donors and community partners in ways that support The Path's life-transforming mission. These fundraising & “friend-raising” activities build relationships and secure financial support for the organization by inspiring our donors and community partners to give according to the priorities of their hearts-- whether it’s financial gifts, their time through volunteering, or items to donate.
Salary: $40,000-$60,0000 per year (based on experience). Full time ONSITE position.
Location: 31 S Melbourne St in Beverly Hills, FL 34465, in Citrus County.
Key Responsibilities:
- Donor Cultivation and Stewardship: Building & maintaining relationships with donors, community partners, & nurturing their engagement. Both seasonal & ongoing strategies develop involvement with The Path that inspires: giving of time through volunteering, meeting The Path’s needs by donating items, & building sustainability through giving financially. This is accomplished by using a variety of planned activities, communication channels, & business partners.
- Project Coordination: Coordinating a wide variety of donor relationship & community engagement activities, seasonal & ongoing: planning, logistics, setting & communicating project timelines, producing/editing digital & print material, developing event calendars, leading or participating in meetings (online or in person), purchasing supplies & inventory, obtaining resources, & monitoring progress.
- Implementing Fundraising & “Friend-raising” Strategies: Creating & executing plans that align with strategies, budget, & best practice decisions between the Executive Director, Development Director, & business partners to reach goals, including annual or capital campaigns, donor relationship strategies, utilizing PR activities & communication channels that engage the community, & other activities.
- Reporting & Communications, digital & print: Leading, Coordinating/Assisting with production of donor- & community-focused materials: direct mail, The Path’s newsletters, communications for donor programs, brochures, outreach material, social media marketing & community public relations media. Tracking/communicating fundraising progress/results to stakeholders or leadership through prepared reports & presentations. Work with The Path’s national vendor on various production activities (direct mail, newsletters, monthly giver program, etc.). May include providing input or content as needed.
- Special Events: Leading/Coordinating/Assisting with annual fall fundraiser event as well as group-specific events as needed, both fundraisers and “friend”raisers, through team effort with other development team members, volunteers & community partners. Activities can include: event planning, planning the program, participant invitations & response tracking, logistics, contracts, participant follow-up, gift & pledge tracking & follow up, plus other related activities.
- Community Relations- Leading/Coordinating media/PR, social media, radio PSAs, donor, community, religious & civic-group relationships.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in public relations, marketing, or closely related area (preferred). A combination of education & relevant work experience may be considered as a substitution for the education requirement.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in related positions such as sales, marketing, public relations, non-profit fundraising, teacher in a public/private school system:
- - Two (2) years’ experience in administrative roles
- - Two (2) years’ leadership experience (team leader, supervisory, group leader, manager)
- Experience in fundraising, public relations, or marketing (preferred)
- Experience working as an executive assistant or other supervisory role in these areas for a nonprofit organization, private school, religious organization, rescue mission or other residential program is a plus!
- Valid Florida driver’s license (class E).
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Employer conducts background & motor vehicle records checks, & drug/alcohol screening.

- Planning, organizing, executing fundraising initiatives or community engagement campaigns. Manage/communicate deadlines & deliverables effectively so that goals are met on time.
- Cultivating & maintaining professional relationships with donors and stakeholders. Respectful & professional with Path clients, staff, volunteers, donors, business partners, & the general public at all times. Public-relations focused.
- Managing a budget & tracking expenses effectively.
- Understanding various fundraising techniques & strategies a plus (not required).
- Will train on donor management software & other applications.
Tools and Technologies:
- Computer Proficiency in Windows-based desktop environment to perform the administrative portion of this position, including Microsoft Office programs, CRM database, registration & donor tracking, online marketing tools, & communications or social media applications.
- Computer Proficiency in MS Word, Excel
- Familiar with Communication Tools, such as ConstantContact or MailChimp
- Familiar with Online Graphics Design Tools, such as Canva or Adobe products a plus
- Familiar with online event & registration tools a plus
- Data Entry experience a plus
