About the Role

Priority Group Services LLC is seeking an experienced Fund Attorney to provide legal counsel and compliance oversight to the Bergen Municipal Employee Benefits Fund (BMED Fund). The Attorney will advise on all regulatory, contractual, and operational matters, ensuring the Fund’s operations align with New Jersey laws and governance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on legal and regulatory compliance related to fund operations.
• Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, resolutions, and insurance agreements.
• Represent the Fund in legal proceedings and administrative hearings.
• Provide legal guidance during benefit plan negotiations.
• Support the Executive Committee with policy development and legal interpretations.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in New Jersey (required).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in public sector law, employee benefits, or insurance fund law.
• Strong knowledge of New Jersey statutes related to health benefits and local government contracting.
• Excellent written, verbal, and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience advising joint insurance funds (JIFs) or public entities.
• Familiarity with municipal law, labor negotiations, or healthcare benefit compliance.

Compensation

• Competitive hourly rate: $85 – $110/hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
