Kowalchyk Law, LLC, is seeking an experienced associate attorney ready to work within a fast-growing, collaborative, and strategy-driven practice in Prattville, AL. If you are motivated, decisive, and comfortable managing cases and deadlines independently, from initial client intake through trial, this role offers the place and support to do your best work without micromanagement.

This is not an entry-level role, but it is a place for a motivated attorney to continue developing their craft. This position is well-suited for a driven attorney ready to work in a dynamic environment and deliver meaningful results for clients across multiple practice areas.

Qualifications:

- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school

- Active license and good standing with the Alabama State Bar

- Demonstrated litigation experience in multiple practice areas, including family law, real property, and/or personal injury

- Demonstrated proficiency in Westlaw legal research

- Exceptional written, oral, research, analytical, and negotiation skills

- Professional judgment and the ability to manage deadlines and client expectations across multiple cases efficiently

- Prior experience working in a busy law office environment with familiarity in legal administrative processes

- Detail-oriented self-starter committed to excellence and the highest standards of professionalism

- Strong client communication and interpersonal skills

Core Responsibilities:

- Independently and collaboratively manage day-to-day handling of active caseload in compliance with procedural rules and deadlines

- Foster compassionate, direct client relationships from day one

- Participate in developing case strategy and prepare clients for mediation and trial

- Conduct legal research, draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, motions, discovery, and trial documents

- Appear and represent clients effectively in court proceedings and negotiations

- Move cases forward while maintaining an exceptional standard of client service

Preferred Experience:

- Substantial experience in family law (divorce, custody, support, post-judgment matters)

- Prior responsibility for managing a full caseload

- Trial or evidentiary hearing experience
