Attorney or JD Preferred - Estate Planning and Probate Law

About the Role:

Foley Pearson Riekkola Iverson, P.C. is seeking an Attorney or JD Preferred candidate to join our team in estate planning, probate, and business law. This role is an opportunity to develop as a lawyer while contributing to work that makes a real difference for families. What You Will Do:

In this role, you will support our mission of easing the burdens on families by providing clear, organized, and compassionate legal services. Early in your practice, your work will focus heavily on probate and trust administration, giving you firsthand experience with the practical and human issues that arise after a loved one’s death. Over time, you will expand your responsibilities to include estate planning as you develop greater knowledge and skill.

Your work will include:

• Guiding clients through the probate process, including preparing and filing petitions, managing deadlines, and helping families navigate complex legal requirements;
• Assisting with trust administration, including advising trustees on their duties, preparing documentation, and ensuring compliance with trust terms;
• Meeting regularly with clients to answer questions, explain legal documents, review plans, and provide reassurance during difficult times;
• Drafting key legal documents, including wills, trusts, probate pleadings, and related filings;
• Managing multiple deadlines and responsibilities with exceptional time management and organizational skill;
• Conducting legal research and assisting with the preparation of memoranda, correspondence, and other work product;
• Using the firm’s workflow and task-management systems to track matters and maintain accountability.

• Comfortable with both client-facing interactions and the behind-the-scenes drafting and research that supports them;
• Collaborative, respectful, and able to contribute to a positive team culture;
• Adaptable and resilient, with experience or comfort handling difficult personalities or emotionally charged situations;
• Genuinely interested in helping clients find clarity and order in times of uncertainty.

Qualifications:

• JD degree from an accredited law school (or nearing completion);
• Superior research, writing, and organizational skills;
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (experience with legal practice management software is a plus);
• Desire to learn and grow in estate planning, probate, and business law.

Employment Details

• Job Type: Full-time
• Compensation: $90,000–$110,000 DOE
