Position Summary

The Hearing Institute of Fresno is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Audiology Assistant to support our audiology team in delivering exceptional patient care. This role blends clinical support, patient interaction, and administrative responsibilities in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.

The ideal candidate is organized, personable, and enjoys helping patients improve their quality of life through better hearing.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Clinical Support

• Assist audiologists and hearing aid dispensers during patient visits
• Prepare exam rooms and equipment for testing and procedures
• Clean, check, and maintain hearing devices and accessories
• Perform basic troubleshooting and minor hearing aid repairs
• Provide patient education on hearing aid use and care

Front Office & Patient Experience

• Greet patients and ensure a welcoming, professional environment
• Schedule appointments and manage provider calendars
• Answer phones and respond to patient inquiries
• Process payments and review financing options when applicable

Insurance & Administrative Duties

• Assist with insurance verification and prior authorizations
• Submit and track hearing aid and service claims
• Maintain accurate patient records in the EMR system
• Coordinate follow-up appointments and ongoing care

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a medical office, audiology, or healthcare setting preferred
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Comfortable working with technology and electronic medical records
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• High school diploma required; additional training or certification is a plus

Preferred (but not required)

• Experience with hearing aids or durable medical equipment
• Familiarity with insurance billing or prior authorizations
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

• $22–$28 per hour, depending on experience

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
