Job Summary
The Audit Executive is responsible for conducting operational, financial, and compliance audits across shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, and NVOCC operations. The role ensures adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, internal controls, and industry best practices while identifying risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvement.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial & Compliance Audits
- Conduct periodic audits of financial transactions, accounting records, receivables, payables, and bank reconciliations.
- Review revenue recognition, freight billing, detention and demurrage charges, and customer invoicing processes.
- Verify compliance with company policies, taxation laws, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in preparing audit reports and presenting findings to management.
Operational Audits
- Audit shipping and logistics operations including booking, documentation, cargo movement, and container management.
- Review Bill of Lading (B/L), Delivery Orders (DO), manifests, and shipping instructions for accuracy and compliance.
- Verify container inventory records and monitor container movement and utilization.
- Identify operational risks and recommend corrective actions to improve efficiency.
Risk Management & Internal Controls
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls across departments.
- Identify control weaknesses, process gaps, and potential fraud risks.
- Conduct investigations related to discrepancies, financial irregularities, or policy violations.
- Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and corrective actions.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain comprehensive audit working papers and supporting documentation.
- Prepare audit observations, risk assessments, and management reports.
- Track audit findings and ensure timely closure of observations.
- Assist management in developing policies and procedures to strengthen governance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- ACCA, CA (Inter), CIA, or equivalent qualification will be preferred.
- 2–4 years of experience in Internal Audit, Finance, Shipping, Logistics, Freight Forwarding, or NVOCC operations.
