Position Title: Internal Audit Officer (Retail)

2. JOB PURPOSE

The Internal Audit Officer (Retail) is responsible for assisting the Internal Audit team in evaluating store operations, verifying transactions, and ensuring compliance with Unze Group’s financial and operational policies. This role involves conducting store-level audits, cash and stock verifications, and ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures across retail outlets in Pakistan. The position requires extensive travel and aims to strengthen the organization’s control environment, reduce risk exposure, and ensure transparency in operations.

3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the audit team in conducting retail store audits covering sales, cash handling, inventory management, and compliance with company policies.
  • Review and verify daily sales transactions, return/exchange records, and discount approvals from POS systems under the supervision of senior auditors.
  • Ensure cash handling, deposits, and petty cash transactions follow company procedures and are fully supported by documentation.
  • Participate in physical stock counts across retail outlets and warehouses, verifying quantities, damages, and discrepancies against system records.
  • Identify and report irregularities, data mismatches, or potential fraud indicators in sales or inventory processes.
  • Prepare working papers, maintain audit evidence, and assist in drafting audit observations for review by the Audit Executive or Audit Manager.
  • Verify that store-level financial and operational records comply with internal controls and standard audit checklists.
  • Support the monitoring of loss prevention, stock shrinkage, and process compliance during audits.

6. REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (B.Com/BBA)

Experience:

  • 1–2 years of experience in internal audit, retail operations, or accounting preferred

Technical Skills:

  • Basic understanding of internal audit procedures and financial controls
  • Familiarity with retail POS and ERP systems (preferred)
  • Strong command of MS Excel and report documentation
  • Understanding of inventory management and transaction reconciliation

Soft Skills:

  • High ethical integrity and confidentiality
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving attitude
  • Willingness to travel nationwide (80% travel requirement)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs40,000.00 - Rs55,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Lahore: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
