Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and technically proficient Sales Engineer to join our team, specializing in Autodesk and Lumion software solutions for the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry. This role combines technical expertise with sales acumen to drive revenue growth while providing exceptional customer support and solution design for architectural and engineering professionals.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architectural engineering and deep understanding of BIM (Building Information Modeling) workflows, 3D visualization, and construction technology. You will serve as the technical bridge between our sales team and clients, ensuring that complex software solutions are properly understood, configured, and implemented to meet customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Sales & Solution Design
•Conduct technical product demonstrations and presentations for Autodesk AEC Collection software including Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Autodesk Construction Cloud
•Present Lumion's architectural visualization and 3D rendering capabilities to architects, designers, and visualization professionals
•Design customized software solutions that integrate Autodesk and Lumion products to meet specific client workflows and project requirements
•Collaborate with prospects to understand their technical challenges and propose appropriate software configurations
•Provide technical expertise during the entire sales cycle, from initial discovery to contract closure
Customer Relationship Management
•Build and maintain strong relationships with architects, engineers, contractors, and design professionals
•Serve as the primary technical point of contact for key accounts and strategic prospects
•Conduct site visits and on-site consultations to assess client needs and demonstrate software capabilities
•Provide post-sale technical support to ensure successful software implementation and user adoption
•Gather customer feedback and communicate product enhancement requests to development teams
Market Development & Education
•Identify new market opportunities within the AEC industry for Autodesk and Lumion solutions
•Develop and deliver technical training sessions, webinars, and workshops for existing and potential customers
· Representing the company at industry trade shows, conferences, and professional events
•Create technical content including case studies, white papers, and solution briefs
•Stay current with industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies in AEC software
Sales Support & Collaboration
•Work closely with Management to qualify leads and develop technical proposals
•Prepare detailed technical specifications, system requirements, and implementation timelines
•Support pricing strategies by understanding the technical value proposition of different software configurations
•Assist in contract negotiations by providing technical clarifications and solution modifications
•Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and technical requirements in CRM systems
Required Qualifications
Educational Background
•Bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or related technical field
Technical Expertise
•Autodesk Software Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Autodesk AEC Collection including:
•Revit
•AutoCAD
•Basic Knowledge Civil 3D for infrastructure design
•Autodesk Construction Cloud
•Navisworks for project review and coordination
• Basic Knowledge Autodesk Forma for early-stage design
•Building Information Modeling principles and workflows
Professional Experience
•Minimum 3-10 years of experience in architectural or engineering practice
•Previous experience in technical sales, preferably in AEC software or technology
•Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
•Experience with complex B2B sales cycles and enterprise software solutions
•Background in customer-facing roles with strong presentation and communication skills
•Relationship Building: Excellent interpersonal skills to build trust and long-term partnerships with clients
•Project Management: Ability to manage multiple prospects and customers simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
•Adaptability: Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment with evolving technology and market conditions
Preferred Qualifications
Industry Experience
•5+ years of hands-on experience in architectural design, engineering consulting, or construction management
•Previous experience working with large AEC firms, government agencies, or educational institutions
Sales & Business Development
•Previous experience in software sales with demonstrated success in quota achievement
•Understanding of software licensing models, subscription services, and enterprise agreements
•Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales methodology training
•Track record of developing new market segments or geographic territories
