Overview
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Automation Engineer to join our dedicated Process Automation Scrum Team. This role is in support of our efficiency strategy, focused on eliminating manual work across the organization through the strategic use of automation tools. The successful candidate will be a hands-on technical expert, transforming business and operational processes into scalable, reliable automated workflows that support our internal employees and clients.
Key Responsibilities
Automation Development & Implementation

Process Automation Design: Design, develop, and implement end-to-end automation solutions using the team's core tools: PIA, various scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell), and Microsoft Power Automate

Operational Automation: Focus on high-impact operational areas, specifically automating NOC (Network Operations Center) and SOC (Security Operations Center) notification, triage, and resolution processes to speed up service delivery and incident response

Business Automation: Develop automated workflows for key business functions including billing reconciliation and invoicing, procurement request management, and contract lifecycle processes

Code Quality & Standards: Write clean, well-documented, and efficient automation scripts and flows. Ensure all solutions adhere to company security standards, governance policies, and high availability requirements
Team Collaboration & Scrum

Scrum Participation: Actively participate in all Scrum ceremonies (e.g., daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives) as a dedicated member of the automation team

Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with process owners and subject matter experts (SMEs) from IT Operations, Finance, Security, and other departments to gather requirements, map existing manual processes, and validate implemented automation solutions

Process Intelligence (PIA): Utilize PIA insights and data to prioritize automation opportunities, define project scope, and measure the realized business value (e.g., time saved, error reduction) post-implementation
Tool Management & Maintenance

Tool Expertise: Serve as a technical expert on the core automation platforms (PIA, Power Automate), staying current with new features, integration capabilities, and best practices

Maintenance & Support: Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot existing automation workflows and scripts. Own the technical debt reduction and continuous improvement of deployed solutions

Reusable Components: Develop and maintain a library of reusable automation components, templates, and functions to accelerate future development efforts
Additional Responsibilities:

Requirements

5+ years of experience in a Automation Engineering role, ideally within an MSP, IT services, or consulting

Strong understanding of IT operations, MSP process
