Automation Project Manager

About the role

As an Automation Project Manager, you will make an impact by collaborating, developing and managing , detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations for automation initiatives.. You will be a valued member of the Life Sciences team and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data integration and transformation processes.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of automation projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Define and maintain the Project Scope, monitor scope adherence, and update documentation and communicate approved scope changes to stakeholders.
  • Lead the Change Control Process: Evaluate change requests, assess impact on scope/schedule/budget, and obtain approvals.
  • Ensure all automation deliverables meet GMP, GAMP, and CSV standards through effective coordination with technical leads.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Troubleshoot and resolve project-related issues promptly.

What you need to have to be considered:

  • 8–12 years of experience in automation project management, in API/bulk manufacturing, Monoclonal Antibody, Bioconjugate is desired but not required.
  • Familiarity with project governance frameworks such as PMBOK® and ISO standards.
  • Proficiency in project reporting tools such as Power BI and MS Project.
  • Strong engagement and communication skills across technical and business teams.
  • Understanding of ISA-88, SDLC, and Agile methodologies.
  • Understanding of GMP, GAMP, and CSV principles.
  • Understanding of life sciences manufacturing processes and automation technologies (e.g., DeltaV, MES, SCADA).

Salary and Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $70,000 - $130,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
