Automotive Accounting Clerk

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Automotive Accounting Clerk to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will handle a variety of accounting functions specific to the automotive industry, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping and compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will support the smooth operation of the dealership or automotive service center's financial processes, contributing to overall business success. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about accounting, with a focus on automotive financial management and data accuracy. (hours: M-F 8:00am - 5:00 pm)

Duties

• Perform data entry and maintain precise records of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger transactions related to automotive operations
• Reconcile balance sheets, accounts, and bank statements using accounting software such as Reynolds & Reynolds.
• Assist with month-end closing procedures, including journal entries and account analysis in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and industry-specific standards
• Conduct account reconciliation to verify accuracy across various ledgers and resolve discrepancies efficiently
• Skills
• Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles,
• Proficiency with multiple financial software platforms
• Experience with payroll management systems such as Microsoft & Reynolds & Reynolds.
• Knowledge of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, account analysis.
• Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy (10 key typing skills) and experience in double-entry bookkeeping
• Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation, account reconciliation, and general ledger accounting tasks efficiently
• Strong mathematical skills combined with analytical thinking for account analysis and financial reporting
• Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and ensure clarity in financial documentation
• Prior experience in automotive or non-profit accounting is advantageous but not required.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
