PartsHawk is looking for an Automotive Catalog Data & Content Specialist to own the accuracy, completeness, and performance of our product catalog across PartsHawk.com and all marketplaces. This role sits at the intersection of automotive product knowledge, data handling, and content optimization, with ChannelAdvisor as the system of record for all catalog data.

You will identify gaps in our catalog, source and normalize data from multiple providers (including PDM Automotive and manufacturers), create and maintain SKUs in ChannelAdvisor, and leverage AI and SEO best practices to maximize product visibility and conversion.

Key Responsibilities

Catalog Gap Management

  • Identify missing or incomplete catalog data (SKUs, fitment, attributes, images, descriptions) across brands and marketplaces.
  • Prioritize high-value brands, categories, and SKUs to address first.

Data Acquisition & Processing

  • Source updated product data/content from PDM Automotive, manufacturers, and other data providers.
  • Process large flat files (CSV, XLSX, TXT) using Microsoft Excel and related tools to cleanse, normalize, and prepare data for import.
  • Work with ACES & PIES data and XML feeds where applicable to ensure accurate year/make/model/engine fitment and product attributes.

ChannelAdvisor Ownership

  • Create and maintain SKUs in ChannelAdvisor, ensuring all required fields, mappings, and templates are populated correctly.
  • Import updated content into ChannelAdvisor as the primary catalog of record and validate successful syndication to marketplaces (Amazon, eBay, Walmart, Google, etc.).

Content & SEO Optimization

  • Use existing data, AI tools (e.g., GPT), and your automotive expertise to create high-quality, SEO-optimized titles, bullet points, long descriptions, and fitment notes.
  • Ensure content follows marketplace guidelines and supports both search visibility and customer clarity.

Image Management

  • Download product images from supplied URLs and process them as needed to meet Google and marketplace requirements (dimensions, format, background, naming, etc.).
  • Perform light image editing (cropping, simple cleanup, minor adjustments) when necessary.

Quality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Audit live listings for data integrity, missing content, and errors; correct issues proactively.
  • Partner with internal teams to improve catalog standards, naming conventions, and processes.

Requirements

  • Automotive Experience
  • Solid understanding of automotive parts, applications, and fitment (year/make/model/engine).
  • Prior experience working with auto parts data/catalogs strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (sorting, filtering, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, text functions; bonus for PivotTables and basic macros).
  • Experience handling large product datasets and complex flat files.
  • Familiarity with ChannelAdvisor or a similar ecommerce catalog system.
  • Experience with ACES & PIES standards and/or XML-based automotive data feeds is a strong plus.
  • Experience with PDM Automotive or similar catalog/data platforms is highly desirable.
  • Ability to write clear, accurate, and concise product content.
  • Experience using AI tools (e.g., GPT) for content generation and optimization.
  • Basic understanding of marketplace and Google SEO best practices for product data.
  • High attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple brands and priorities.
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced ecommerce environment and meeting deadlines.

This role is ideal for someone who loves auto parts, enjoys working with data at scale, and takes pride in building a clean, complete, and high-performing product catalog that powers growth across marketplaces.
