Job Purpose:
To perform electrical system diagnostics, repairs, and installations on BAIC vehicles, ensuring all electrical components and systems operate efficiently and safely according to manufacturer standards and company quality guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Electrical Diagnosis and Repair
- Diagnose electrical faults in vehicles using diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
- Repair or replace faulty wiring, components, relays, switches, sensors, alternators, batteries, and other electrical parts.
- Conduct systematic troubleshooting of vehicle electrical and electronic systems, including ECU, ABS, airbag, lighting, infotainment, and A/C systems.
- Perform preventive electrical maintenance to ensure long-term vehicle reliability.
2. Installation and Configuration
- Install and configure new electrical components such as lighting systems, alarms, GPS devices, audio/video systems, and other accessories.
- Ensure all installations meet BAIC and company safety and quality standards.
- Calibrate and program electrical systems as required using diagnostic tools and software.
3. Workshop Operations
- Record all repairs and services accurately on job cards and update service history in coordination with the Service Advisor.
- Work closely with mechanics, painters, and other technicians to ensure integrated repair solutions.
- Maintain tools, diagnostic devices, and workstations in proper condition and report any faults to the Workshop Supervisor.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all electrical works.
4. Quality, Safety, and Compliance
- Conduct post-repair testing to verify the performance of electrical systems.
- Adhere strictly to BAIC manufacturer standards, company quality guidelines, and health and safety procedures.
- Report potential electrical hazards or recurring technical issues to management for resolution.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and waste disposal standards when handling batteries and electrical components.
5. Customer and Team Support
- Support Service Advisors in explaining electrical issues and repairs to customers when needed.
- Provide guidance and training support to junior electricians or apprentices.
- Maintain professional behavior and teamwork in all interactions.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma or Certificate in Automotive Electrical / Electronic Systems or equivalent trade qualification.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as an Automotive Electrician, preferably in a dealership or authorized workshop.
- Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools and automotive electrical systems.
- Experience with Chinese brands (MG, Changan, GAC, etc.) is an advantage.
- Basic mechanical knowledge is preferred.
- Valid UAE driving license is an advantage.
