Automotive Mechanic

Duties

  • Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately.
  • Repair and overhaul engines, transmissions, powertrains, and diesel engines with precision and attention to detail.
  • Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, suspension repairs, shocks & struts replacement, and brake repairs.
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools efficiently to disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicle components in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Service ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) and auto electrical systems to ensure modern vehicle safety features function correctly.
  • Execute auto body repairs including welding when necessary to restore vehicle integrity.
  • Read and interpret automotive schematics for complex repairs involving electrical systems or mechanical components.
  • Maintain detailed repair records, complete auto estimating tasks accurately, and communicate effectively with customers about their vehicle’s needs.

Qualifications

  • Proven mechanic experience with dealership or automotive repair shop background preferred.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge across various systems including transmissions, suspension, brakes, powertrain, and diesel engines.
  • Familiarity with automotive diagnostics software and schematics for precise troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with GM vehicles or similar makes is a plus.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other automotive maintenance tools.
  • Knowledge of auto estimating procedures along with excellent customer service skills to ensure a positive client experience.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety standards and quality controls.
  • Certification in automotive repair or related fields is advantageous; ongoing training in ADAS or advanced electrical systems is encouraged.
