Automotive Mechanic

Overview
AUTOTRUST REPAIRS with 3 locations: Montgomery - Navasota - College Station. It's looking for Automotive Technicians. Entry - Master Tech levels. Compensation depends of Experience but we start at $16 per hour for entry level Techs and up to $40 flag hour for a Master Technician.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately.
  • Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, suspension repairs, shocks & struts replacement, and brake repairs to keep vehicles operating smoothly.
  • Repair and overhaul powertrain components including transmissions, engines (gasoline and diesel), and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) features.
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for repairs, welding tasks, and mechanical adjustments with precision.
  • Service vehicle systems such as air brakes, auto body repairs, auto estimating, and electrical systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Follow manufacturer specifications and schematics to execute repairs on GM vehicles or other makes with attention to detail.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed for quality assurance and customer communication.
  • Ensure all safety protocols are followed during maintenance procedures to promote a safe working environment.
  • For our shop in Montgomery, we require the Technician to have or to apply for the State Inspector License.
  • Background check will also be required and need to have a valid driver license.

Skills

  • Proven experience or extensive mechanic experience working on various vehicle brands.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, electrical systems, powertrain components, transmissions, suspension systems, and wheel alignment.
  • Hands-on experience with ADAS technology, auto estimating software, welding techniques, and auto body repair is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in using schematics for troubleshooting complex electrical or mechanical issues.
  • Familiarity with diesel engine repair and air brake systems is a plus.
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, maintenance equipment, and automotive service machinery.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
