Automotive Mechanic

We are looking for a skilled automotive technician to maintain and repair customer-owned, and fleet vehicles of all makes and models. You will be responsible for diagnosing issues, and fixing said problems. The office staff will support you in this role by scheduling work, ordering parts, interacting with customers, and setting job priorities for any given work day.

Your duties include, but are not limited to:

• Inspecting vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately
• Inspecting vehicle computers and electronic systems to repair, maintain and upgrade
• Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.), aiming to improve vehicle functionality and longevity
• Make recommendations regarding work that may be necessary in the near future
• Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning parts and resolve issues, such as leaks or short circuits
• Make written notes on work orders

The job requirements include:

• A high school diploma or GED
• Experience as an automotive technician
• The capacity to use codes to diagnose mechanical problems
• The ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams
• Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to handle various tools and vehicle lifts
• Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protection against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.
• Supplying your own tools
