Automotive Title Clerk

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Processes all new and used vehicles for registration in the state in which they will be titled.
  • Maintain a system to verify out-of-state titles.
  • Prepares license and title documents.
  • Prepares tax documents as needed.
  • Submits all legal transfer documents to the Department of Motor Vehicles.
  • Verifies that funds have been collected and the correct lienholder is listed before processing title applications.
  • Prepares payoff checks for trade-ins.
  • Assist to administer auction title processing as needed.
  • Compiles and maintains a complete list of all outstanding title work. Reports to management on the status of any missing or problem titles and provides a current list of outstanding titles to the comptroller at the end of month.
  • Processes vehicle purchases.
  • Processes yearly renewal of dealer tags in conjunction with office manager.
  • Stays abreast of title regulations. Attends seminars held by local licensing bureaus and any available training on title regulations as requested by management.
  • Work with finance director, managers, and all sales personnel whenever regulations change.
  • Reconcile monthly schedules.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and a neat work area.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.

· Superb customer service skills with the proven ability to resolve customer service issues and ability to follow through entire process with customer.

· Professional, demonstrates initiative, resourceful, strong problem-solving skills

· Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office and efficient typing and writing skills.

· Strong organizational expertise and an attention to detail.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
