About the Role

Our client a Dubai-based trading group operating in the oil, gas, and minerals sector is seeking a Junior Lawyer with strong experience in UK law to support its legal function. This role offers broad exposure to commercial, corporate, and trading-related legal matters and the opportunity to work closely with senior management.

The successful candidate will report directly to the General Counsel and will be expected to handle both legal and paralegal responsibilities, as well as step in during the General Counsel’s absence when required.

Key Responsibilities

Provide legal support on matters governed by English law, including commercial contracts and corporate documentation

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements (e.g., trading, supply, services, NDAs, MOUs)
• Support oil, gas, and minerals trading activities from a legal and compliance perspective
• Conduct legal research and prepare summaries, opinions, and internal memoranda
• Assist with corporate governance matters, filings, and regulatory compliance
• Liaise with external counsel, counterparties, and internal stakeholders
• Handle paralegal tasks , including document management, contract tracking, and compliance records
• Act as legal point of contact in the absence of the General Counsel, ensuring continuity of legal support

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with minimum 5 years’ experience working with English law
• Experience in commercial, corporate, or trading-related legal work (oil & gas or commodities experience is an advantage)
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and legal analysis skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple matters simultaneously
• High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Willingness to be based full-time in Dubai
