Baby Immersion Child Care Provider

Job Summary:

Provides instruction and supervision to children in a classroom setting. Assists the Baby Immersion Educator in the development and implementation of lesson plans and all classroom activities and assignments; implements daily schedule and lesson plans to ensure children are productively occupied at all times; maintains all applicable licensing and accreditation guidelines; provides guidance and support to children; communicates with families, ensures the health and safety of children and ensures classroom is hygenic.

Job Duties:

Assists Baby Immersion Educator in the development of lesson plans/daily schedule in accordance with guidelines. Implements daily schedule and lesson plans to ensure children are productively occupied at all times. Maintains all applicable licensing and accreditation guidelines including maintaining a healthy, safe and appropriate learning environment in the classroom. Provides appropriate guidance and support to children. Communicates regularly with families. Ensures classroom is hygienic including environment and personal needs of children. Assists Baby Immersion Educator in all classroom activities and assignments. Ability to communicate, use computer and solve challenging problems with children and parents. Other duties may be assigned.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); no exceptions.


EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

An additional six (6) months of experience in a related field.


COMPUTER SKILLS

An individual should have knowledge of Internet software and Word Processing software.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must obtain within first month of employment a physical and TB test and maintain annually thereafter. Must obtain Entry Level Child Care Training (ELECT) training within 90 days of employment. Additional specialized training may be required. Child Development Associate Credential or Certificate of Master in Early childhood Education is preferred.


OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).


Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance; taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
