Position Summary
You will provide safe, attentive, developmentally appropriate care for a 1-year-old child in a private home. You will manage all baby-related routines, meals, hygiene, and daily structure. You will also support a clean and organized baby environment. You must be able to drive if needed.
Schedule
- 4 days per week, no weekends neither holidays.
- 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Must be willing to stay past 5:00 PM on some days with advance notice when possible
Pay and Benefits
- Base pay: $15 per hour
- Overtime: $25 per hour for hours over 40 per week
- Paid time off: Available after 6 months of employment
- PTO requests must be submitted in advance
- Pay growth:
- +$3 per hour after the 1st year
- +$2 per hour each additional year, based on satisfactory performance and continued employment
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
All duties relate to the baby and the baby’s environment.
- Provide direct supervision and age-appropriate care at all times
- Prepare baby meals and snacks, follow feeding schedule, clean bottles and feeding items
- Maintain baby hygiene, diaper changes, bathing as needed, skin care, and dressing
- Support sleep schedule, naps, safe sleep practices, and bedtime routine if needed
- Plan and engage in developmental play, reading, and age-appropriate learning activities
- Keep baby areas clean and organized, including toys, play spaces, high chair area, and nursery
- Baby laundry, including washing, drying, folding, and organizing baby clothes and linens
- Track and communicate daily updates to parents, including meals, naps, diapers, mood, and milestones
- Drive the child if required for approved activities or errands related to the baby, using an appropriate car seat and safe driving practices
- Follow parent instructions for routines, safety, and any dietary restrictions
Required Qualifications
- Experience caring for infants or toddlers, especially around 1 year old
- Reliable transportation and ability to arrive on time for 6:00 AM start
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to lift, carry, and actively engage with a toddler safely
- Strong judgment, calm under pressure, and consistent attention to safety
- Must pass a background screening
Preferred Qualifications
- CPR and First Aid certification for infants and children, or willingness to obtain within a set timeframe
- References from prior childcare roles
- Non-smoker

- No phone use for personal reasons while actively supervising the child
