Role Overview

JZTech.co is seeking a Backend Developer to manage and extend a production backend system built with Node.js and NestJS. The backend powers mobile applications involving authentication, financial transactions, third-party integrations, and secure data processing.

This role requires strong backend fundamentals and careful handling of business-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js and NestJS

· Design and implement RESTful APIs

· Maintain authentication and authorization mechanisms

· Work with relational databases and ORM tools

· Design, update, and maintain database schemas and migrations

· Integrate and manage third-party services and APIs

· Ensure data consistency and reliability for transaction-based systems

· Handle error management, logging, and monitoring

· Support deployment and runtime issues in production

· Work with AWS-based infrastructure

· Manage environment configurations and secrets securely

· Write and maintain unit and integration tests

· Use Git for version control and collaborate via pull requests

Required Skills & Experience

· 3+ years of backend development experience

· Strong experience with Node.js and NestJS

· Proficiency in TypeScript

· Experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases

· Hands-on experience with ORMs (TypeORM or equivalent)

· Solid understanding of REST APIs and backend architecture

· Experience implementing authentication systems (JWT, tokens, etc.)

· Familiarity with AWS services and cloud deployments

· Understanding of production backend monitoring and debugging

· Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows

Nice to Have

· Experience in fintech, payments, or financial systems

· Knowledge of third-party payment or KYC integrations

· Experience working with transaction-heavy or high-reliability systems

· Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure best practices
