We are looking for an experienced Backend Developer with strong expertise in Python and AWS cloud services, along with hands-on experience using GitHub Copilot for AI-assisted development. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services and APIs, ensuring high-quality deliverables, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver business-critical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Backend Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Python.

  • Build reusable, scalable, and high-performance components.

  • Apply AI-assisted coding practices using Copilot to accelerate development.

  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code adhering to coding standards.

• Cloud & Deployment

  • Design and deploy applications on AWS (Lambda, EC2, S3, API Gateway, RDS, DynamoDB, Step Functions, etc.).

  • Work with IaC tools (CloudFormation, Terraform, or CDK) for infrastructure management.

  • Implement and support CI/CD pipelines for deployments.

• Testing & Quality

  • Develop and execute unit and integration tests.

  • Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.

  • Ensure code quality with automated testing methodologies.

• Collaboration & Mentoring

  • Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps, and product teams for end-to-end delivery.

  • Mentor junior developers and review their work for adherence to standards.

  • Provide input to technical designs and assist Leads in architectural discussions.

• Process & Documentation

  • Document technical designs, workflows, and release notes.

  • Ensure compliance with project reporting standards and SLAs.

  • Identify opportunities for automation, process improvements, and agile delivery models.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Strong programming expertise in Python.

• Hands-on experience with AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, Step Functions, etc.).

• Experience with GitHub Copilot or other AI-assisted development tools.

• Proficiency in RESTful API design and microservices architecture.

• Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases.

• Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

• Experience with containerization tools (Docker, ECS, Kubernetes preferred).

• Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.

• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and optimization skills.

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 4–6 years of hands-on backend development experience.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

• Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.

• Knowledge of TDD/BDD and automated testing frameworks (PyTest, UnitTest).

• Experience with monitoring tools (CloudWatch, New Relic, or similar).

• AWS Certification (Developer Associate / Solutions Architect) is a plus.
