We are seeking an experienced Contract Bankruptcy Paralegal to assist with case preparation, filings, and client communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare bankruptcy petitions, schedules, and supporting documents for attorney review.
• Conduct intake and communicate with clients to gather necessary financial and legal documentation.
• Review and organize client records, including pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, and creditor information.
• File bankruptcy cases electronically (CM/ECF) in federal court.
• Draft motions, notices, and other related pleadings.
• Maintain case calendars, deadlines, and client communication logs.
• Work closely with attorneys to ensure timely and accurate case management.

Qualifications

• Required: Minimum of 2-5 years of experience as a bankruptcy paralegal (Chapter 7 and Chapter 13).
• Strong knowledge of federal bankruptcy procedures and rules.
• Proficiency with MyCase, JubileePro, or similar bankruptcy software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.

Contract Details

• Status: Independent Contractor (1099)
• Hours: Flexible, project-based workload (10–30 hours per week to start, with potential to increase).
• Compensation: Competitive hourly or per-case rate, commensurate with experience.
• Remote: Yes (occasional availability for phone/video conferences required).

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week
