Barista

This position will require AVAILABILITY Friday-Sunday until noon. Shifts to be determined based on business needs, current operating hours are planned for Monday-Thursday 6-2, Friday-Sunday 6-11. Applicants must be 21+ due to location of operation.

Position is eligible for the tip pool.

Position Overview:

The Barista is responsible for preparing espresso drinks quickly and accurately, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized café space. Because most shifts may be solo, this role requires strong time management, accountability, and attention to detail. This position is eligible for our tip pool.

LJ’s Corner Cafe is a brand-new concept, flexibility and adaptability are essential. Systems, schedules, and processes may evolve as we grow, and we’re looking for someone excited to grow with us.

Core Responsibilities

• Prepare espresso drinks and other beverages to LJ’s standards
• Deliver friendly, engaging, and efficient customer service
• Operate POS and handle cash/card transactions accurately
• Maintain cleanliness of espresso machine, counters, lobby, and work areas
• Restock supplies and monitor inventory levels
• Open and/or close the café independently
• Uphold quality, consistency, and brand standards
• Report any issues to the Site Assistant Manager or General Manager.

Qualifications:

• Previous barista experience required
• Comfortable working independently for extended periods
• Strong multitasking and time management skills
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to remain calm and efficient during rushes

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment

Schedule:

• This is a part-time position, schedule may adjust as business needs evolve.
• Shifts will range between 2-6 hours currently.
