The barista is responsible for preparing and serving hot and cold coffee beverages, welcoming customers, operating the POS system, and keeping the workspace clean, organized, and well-stocked. This role requires strong knowledge of coffee brewing techniques, including the use of espresso machines, along with excellent customer service skills to ensure a positive and enjoyable guest experience.


Compensation:

$16.22 - $16.84 hourly


Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service: Greeting customers warmly, answering questions about the menu, and making recommendations.
  • Beverage Preparation: Brewing coffee, espresso, and tea beverages according to recipes and techniques.
  • Cleanliness & Maintenance: Cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment, and seating areas.
  • Operations: Handling payments through POS systems, restocking inventory (beans, cups, pastries), and following food safety regulations.
  • Equipment Care: Operating and performing maintenance on espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment.

Qualifications:
  • Experience: Previous experience as a barista or in food service is often preferred but not required.
  • Skills: Ability to handle, work in a fast-paced environment, and learn quickly.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods, lift, and carry heavy items (e.g., milk crates, coffee bags).
  • Education: A high school diploma or GED is often preferred.
