The Qahwa is a specialty coffee and dessert café rooted in Middle Eastern heritage and elevated modern café culture. We are known for our handcrafted drinks, premium ingredients, warm hospitality, and beautifully designed spaces. As we expand to Orland Park, we are looking for passionate, dependable baristas who take pride in their craft and customer experience.

Job Overview

As a Barista at The Qahwa, you are the face of our brand. You’ll be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, delivering exceptional customer service, and maintaining a clean, welcoming café environment.

No prior specialty coffee experience? That’s okay we provide hands-on training for the right candidates.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve espresso-based drinks, teas, and specialty beverages to The Qahwa standards
• Provide warm, friendly, and professional customer service
• Accurately take orders and handle POS transactions
• Maintain cleanliness of bar, equipment, and customer areas
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health code guidelines
• Restock supplies and assist with opening/closing duties
• Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth daily operations
• Represent The Qahwa brand with professionalism and pride

What We’re Looking For

• Passion for coffee, tea, and hospitality
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
• Willingness to learn and follow established recipes and procedures
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
• Availability on weekends and peak hours is a plus

Preferred (Not Required)

• Previous barista or food service experience
• Familiarity with espresso machines or specialty coffee
• Customer service or hospitality background
