At Dodo Bird Donut we are offering the opportunity for experienced Baristas/FOH staff members to become a key part of our team.

SUMMARY
The Barista is responsible for the creation of all drinks served to guests, whilst providing friendly, engaging and individualized attention to locals. He/she is also required to provide information and educate locals about DoDo Bird Donuts menu items. Baristas are required to fulfill other duties such as preparing food items and using the point of sale system.

RESPONSIBILITIES
● Communicates and interacts with locals using clear and enthusiastic words, tone of voice and body language. Makes locals feel appreciated and valued throughout interactions.
● Contributes positively to the team environment, working closely with one another to deliver exceptional experiences to locals
● Cross-functional role and requires attendance to the coffee machine and point-of-sale system and processing take-away orders
● Dials coffee machine in and maintains consistent espresso extraction as per coffee brew ratios
● Follows Dodo Bird Donuts recipes and presentation standards in a timely manner
● Maintains professional composure and local engagement during periods of high-volume
● Performs well under pressure and maintains efficient, friendly and engaging local experience
● Maintains an organized and hygienic working environment, cleans routinely and proactively restocks items in bar
● Follows Dodo Bird Donuts operating procedures and processes, including completing transactions accurately and following safety and security measures.

SKILLS
● Minimum one year experience in a speicalty coffee, cafe, customer service environment and a passion to provide exceptional customer experience
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to build relationships
● Ability to learn and work in high-pressure environments
● Well-organized and detail-oriented
● Experience in, and an ability to confidently use a Point of Sale (POS) system

Requirements:

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include days, weekends and holidays
• Certifications in San Diego County Food Protection License and Responsible Beverage Server Certification required.
• Coffee/specialty experience: 2 years (Preferred)
• US work authorization

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.75 - $26.00 per hour

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Morning shift
