Barista

Job Summary
We are seeking a fun, hospitable and customer-oriented Barista to join our family!
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee beverages and food items while providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced café environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the coffee / food industry, with experience in hospitality and a commitment to maintaining food safety standards.
The role will span between both of our locations!

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and food items according to established recipes and standards.
• Operate the Toast POS system for processing customer transactions efficiently.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, taking orders, and addressing any inquiries or concerns. We are here for the guest!
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including dining spaces, equipment, and workstations.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling practices.
• Assist with inventory management, including stocking supplies and monitoring product freshness. FIFO is our best friend!
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
• Perform basic math calculations for cash handling and sales transactions accurately.

Skills

• Previous barista experience or strong coffee knowledge is preferred!
• Proficiency in using POS systems such as Toast POS any POS is a plus.
• Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Strong sales skills with the ability to communicate menu items effectively.
• Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly demeanor!
• Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food preparation techniques. Food handlers certification is required!
• Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and retail math calculations.
• Experience in the food service industry is beneficial, along with familiarity with cashiering processes.
