Barista

Job Overview
This is a tipped position. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our dynamic team in creating exceptional coffee experiences for our customers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in customer service and food preparation, along with knowledge of coffee and more specifically espresso. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, maintaining a clean and inviting café environment, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages and other beverages to customers with precision and care.
• Operate the Toast POS systems efficiently for order processing and cash handling.
• Provide outstanding customer service by engaging with patrons, taking orders accurately, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization, including equipment, utensils, and seating areas.
• Adhere to food safety standards and proper food handling procedures during all aspects of food preparation.
• Manage time effectively to ensure timely service during peak hours while maintaining quality standards.
• Assist with inventory management, including restocking supplies as needed.
• Demonstrate knowledge of coffee origins, brewing methods, and flavor profiles to enhance customer experience.

Experience

• Previous barista experience or background in the food service industry is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with Toast POS systems is a plus.
• Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math calculations.
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation is essential.
