A Barista prepares and serves coffee, tea, and other beverages while providing excellent customer service in a café, coffee shop, or restaurant setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve coffee, espresso-based drinks, teas, and other beverages.
- Take customer orders and process payments accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar and seating areas.
- Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other café equipment.
- Restock supplies such as coffee beans, milk, cups, and syrups.
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Answer customer questions and make product recommendations.
- Handle customer concerns professionally and courteously.
- Assist with opening and closing duties.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math and cash-handling skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow recipes.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift light to moderate weights.
- Teamwork and reliability.
- Previous café or food service experience is preferred but often not required.
