Barista Cashier

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately using POS (Point of Sale) systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS.
• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and light food items while adhering to food safety and handling standards.
• Manage cash register operations, including cash handling, credit card processing, and balancing cash drawers with precision.
• Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions about menu items, making recommendations, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food preparation stations, seating areas, and equipment.
• Follow food safety protocols during food handling and preparation to ensure quality and compliance.
• Assist with inventory management by restocking supplies and monitoring product freshness to support efficient café operations.

Skills

• Proven experience as a barista with strong coffee-making skills and knowledge of beverage recipes.
• Prior cashiering experience with familiarity using POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse customers.
• Strong time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently while maintaining accuracy in transactions.
• Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and order totals.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures in a café or food service environment.
