General Responsibilities of Barista at Jones Co:
- Prepare and Serve Products:
- Accurately prepare and serve a variety of beverages and food items according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Maintain a high level of product knowledge and be able to effectively communicate product information to customers and team members.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels of all products to ensure adequate stock and prevent shortages.
- Adhere to inventory controls and procedures, including proper storage, rotation, and quality checks based on FIFO system.
- Customer Service:
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly, answering questions honestly, taking orders accurately, and resolving any customer concerns promptly.
- Build positive relationships with customers through friendly and helpful interactions.
- Maintain a Clean and Safe Work Environment:
- Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the work area, including all equipment and surfaces.
- Adhere to all safety and sanitation regulations provided by the Tulsa Heath Department.
- Operational Support:
- Assist with various operational tasks as needed, such as stocking, receiving deliveries, and maintaining a well-organized workspace. Work to develop a fluid line of communication with members and owner.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to still create value when the pace isn’t so fast.
- Exposure to varying temperatures and potential hazards (e.g., hot surfaces, cleaning chemicals).
Key Qualifications of Barista:
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in operating various equipment (e.g., espresso machines, grinders, ovens etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret data from digital displays icluding screens and POS along with measuring devices.
- Safety Awareness:
- Ability to identify and address potential safety hazards.
- Commitment to following all safety protocols and procedures.
- Customer Service:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with customers and colleagues.
- Operational Requirements:
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong work ethic and reliable attendance.
- Experience & Education:
- Minimum of 18 years of age.
- Food Handler certification required.
- Prior relevant experience preferred (e.g., in food service).
