Batch Plant Supervisor

Your Role

As a Batch Plant Supervisor, you will supervise and manage the daily operations of the batching plant, ensuring timely production and delivery of high-quality concrete mixes in accordance with project specifications, safety standards, and operational targets for oil & gas civil construction projects.

Planning and Coordination

• Review project concrete schedules, mix design requirements, and daily production needs.
• Plan and assign work to batching plant foremen, operators, and technicians.
• Coordinate with civil engineers, site supervisors, QA/QC, and logistics teams to meet concrete supply demands.
• Ensure availability of cement, aggregates, admixtures, water, and batching equipment before production.
• Schedule maintenance and calibration activities with technicians to avoid downtime.
• Oversee batching plant operations to ensure production continuity and product consistency.
• Ensure batching is done according to approved mix designs and project specifications.
• Verify moisture content correction, batching sequence, and loading accuracy.
• Ensure concrete is dispatched on time with proper slump, temperature, and quality checks.
• Monitor plant performance, production output, and equipment utilization.
• Ensure proper operation of conveyors, silos, mixers, and control systems.

Workforce Supervision

• Lead and supervise batching plant foremen, operators, and technicians.
• Monitor workforce performance, attendance, and safety compliance.
• Conduct daily toolbox talks and assign specific responsibilities.
• Provide guidance, training, and technical support to operators and technicians.
• Resolve operational problems raised by foremen and plant operators.

Equipment & Maintenance Oversight

• Ensure all plant equipment (mixers, conveyors, loaders, pumps, silos) are fully operational.
• Schedule preventive and corrective maintenance with technicians.
• Monitor fuel levels, lubrication, and spare parts availability.
• Ensure calibration of batching systems, weighing scales, and control panels.
• Maintain records of breakdowns, repairs, and maintenance activities.

Quality Control & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to approved mix designs throughout production.
• Coordinate with QA/QC for slump test, cube test sampling, and raw material quality checks.
• Ensure proper documentation of batch records, calibration reports, and production logs.
• Identify non-conforming materials and prevent their use.
• Ensure that quality deviations are immediately reported and resolved.

HSE Compliance

• Ensure full compliance with site HSE standards, especially around plant machinery.
• Ensure safe loading, unloading, operation, and movement of plant equipment.
• Enforce PPE usage and safe work practices for all plant personnel.
• Conduct job safety analysis (JSA) for plant activities.
• Report all incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions immediately.

Resource & Inventory Management

• Monitor the stock levels of cement, aggregates, admixtures, fuel, water, and other consumables.
• Coordinate timely deliveries and prevent shortages or overstocking.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of raw materials.
• Control wastage, spillage, and contamination of concrete materials.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain daily production records, plant logs, and maintenance reports.
• Submit daily, weekly, and monthly production reports to the Engineer.
• Record mix production quantities, delivery times, and dispatch details.
• Submit material request forms, maintenance requests, and calibration reports on time.
• Assist in preparing documentation for audits, inspections, and client reports.

Coordination With Site & External Stakeholders

• Coordinate with site teams for concrete delivery schedule and sequence.
• Ensure proper dispatching of transit mixers and pumps.
• Monitor travel time, delays, and site receiving issues.
• Liaise with suppliers for aggregates, cement, and admixture deliveries.

What We're Looking For Experience

• Must have a minimum of 10-12 years of experience in batching plant operations.
• Minimum 4-5 years in a supervisory role in oil & gas or large civil construction projects.

Education

• Diploma in Mechanical / Civil Engineering or relevant technical qualification.

Skills and Expertise

• Ability to read mix designs, QC test reports, and production schedules.
• Knowledge of plant automation systems (SCADA, PLC, batching software).
• Understanding of preventive maintenance procedures.
• Leadership and team management.
• Clear communication and coordination skills.
